Holiday home La Forêt is located in department De Somme, a very versatile region, circa 100 km south of the Belgium border. De Somme has 70 km of coastline with beautiful chalk cliffs, pebble beaches and extensive sandy beaches. Central lies the world famous bay and estuary of the Somme, a unique nature area where the big tide differences provide a unique flora and fauna. The marshes and mud flats are the home of hundreds of different migratory birds in bird reserve Marquenterre. Inlands in the Somme is a beautiful hilly landscape with forests, valleys, castles and monestries. One of the cultural highlights is the huge cathedral of Amiens. Further to the east are the battle fields from the First Wolrd War, a historically charged area with many fish, bike and walking possiblities. Forest lies on the edge of the large forest of Crécy, 13 km east of the bay of the Somme, near Saint Valéry. The house stands in the middle of this colorful village with 400 inhabitants. The renovated house is spacious and is part of a former farm. Guests occupy the farm alone. Hikes through the forest of Crecy start in front of the door. Next to the house stands the local city hall with its ballroom, public gardens and lawn bowling lanes. Guests can also use the garden of holiday home La Forêt.
